How are you doing with your 5:2 diet?

The 5:2 diet phenomenon has been about for a while now and has been increasing in popularity through large scale media coverage and the huge number of success stories.

But the big question is - how are you all getting on with the diet? What sort of results have you experienced?

The 5:2 diet can produce fantastic results and really transform people's lifestyle for the better as long as it is done correctly. The majority of people who follow the rules reap fantastic results; the bad press comes from those who have attempted it by playing by their own rules and then question why their health hasn't improved.

I have developed a great understanding of the 5:2 diet over a period of time through my own experiences and I have experienced some fantastic benefits. I believe that shaping the 5:2 diet towards your needs, yet still complying with the rules is a great way of improving your lifestyle.

I tend to employ the 5:2 diet during the summer months as I am training a lot less and it is the holiday period. This helps me to maintain my shape and overall condition as I am monitoring what I consume and when.

A common area where people may fall down is when it is a normal day and the following day is a 'good day'. Some may fall into the trap of considering their normal day as a 'whatever day' – eating rubbish food in stupid quantities with the mindset of “don’t worry, tomorrow is a good day”. I can assure you it doesn’t work like that at all.

This is where mental strength plays significant role in diet and a healthy lifestyle. In order to make anything work in life, the mental approach is key to that success and the 5:2 diet is no different. Looking at the bigger picture and how you approach it underpins the results you will experience from the 5:2 diet.

So how are you all getting on with it? What improvements have you experienced to your lifestyle?
